Just a little tip...

If any of you are participating in the Thinking Inking class over at two peas, you know that last week Jennifer was talking about Dimensional Pearls and Liquid Pearls from Ranger. Although I absolutely LOVE Ranger products, they are not always available at the stores that have access too and I don't always have the money to pay for shipping from online retailers if I need something in a hurry. So I wanted to share a tip with those of you who have a similar issue. If you have a Michael's near you as well as some AC moore's & Joann's carry a similar product that works great. I didn't even own one bottle of liquid pearls but I do own MANY colors of Scribbles 3D Paint. It is actually meant for fabric but works fantastic with the tecniques Jennifer McGuire showed last week! I just wanted to share that with all of you that were not able to get the Ranger products. These are cheap too! haha!! Hope this helps someone out there!! Hers is what the bottle looks like and a card I made with the water color and stamp tecnigue from class 2 last week!

Thinking Inking

I started participating in the "Thinking Inking" class with Jennifer McGuire over at Two Peas. I have loved Distress Inks and Alcohol Inks since I first got my little hands on them but I didn't realize all of the awesome stuff you could do with them! I love the alcohol inks the most I think (if you could see my hands after making a card you would agree) they are just so much fun! So I'm going to share on of my favorites that I made and it was super easy! Thanks for stopping by!

Mourning My Computer

I am in deep mourning. I have had my Mac laptop for 7 years and it finally gave up on me. It wouldn't hold a charge, wouldn't let me connect to the internet, wouldn't even let me open Safari! I had to let it go and get a new computer :( After long consideration, I had to decide between living without a computer for a few months (haha) while I saved for a new Mac... or bought a PC laptop. I knew I couldn't wait a few months without internet, also considering I have an online business... but really couldn't live without the Peas for that long! hahaha. So I bought a Gateway. I have been so out of the PC loop that I thought Gateway was still a crap company and Dell was the only way to go. Little did the Mac girl know that Dell is down the bowl and Gateway is one of the better companies! Yay for me cause Gateway was cheaper! haha. So the very nice boy at Best Buy directed me to this lovely computer that I am typing on right now. It's very strange to be on a PC format and probably will take me a few days to get used to it, but besides that I'm happy :) But as the title of my post reads, I am still in deep mourning. So sad. Poor Mac.

SEI Giveaway- amazing stuff!

SEI is having a great giveaway on their blog featuring 3 new lines that are being released at the summer CHA> I personally LOOVVEEE the Winter Mint line and cannot wait to get my hands on it! Go over and check it out! You will not be disappointed! Check it out here: Unbelievable Giveaway!

New Scrappy Budget

I really am not very happy although I understand the reasoning behind this new budget I'm on. I only have $50 a MONTH to spend now and I know this is going to be really hard. Especially because the 1 thing I really want is pretty over $50 online and I can't find it in a store. All I want is a BIND IT ALL!!! It's driving me nuts that I can't find one and that I have this new limit to my supplies. I know in reality I probably don't NEED to spend even $50 a month but I usually spend more than that anyway. I think I may go crazy! If you have a scrap budget, how on earth do you stick to it!?!? Ok, off to do my mini for week 4! lol

Good Morning!

So, I haven't been online too much the past few days, I have been really sick! I somehow must have caught a horrible cold and I feel really crappy! But anyway, on a brighter note, I finished my second mini album for the TwoPeas class. I am definitely addicted to these mini's. I had alot of fun with this one because I never would have made it the way I did if I didn't take inspiration from Lisa's album. Her work is just gorgeous. So, here is mine and I have to say I'm very happy with it! I used alot of Tim Holtz products, I love distressing and aging things! If you would like to see the full album and products I used, you can see it here: FRIENDS MINI
Ok, back to bed with some hot tea! Have a great day!

Concerts!!!

I am so excited! My DH, my Aunt and I are heading to Madison Square Garden tonight for the Fleetwood Mack Concert! How fun!?!? My Aunt is a big fan so she is super excited which makes me even more happy! So that's tonight!

AND... my FAVORITE BAND EVER GREEN DAY is back in concert and guess who scored tickets!??!! MMEEEE!!!! YAY!! That's in July which I am very excited about and even though my friends think I am crazy, I will tell you a story... Green Day is playing at MSG also, which is 30 min away from my house by train, but that concert is on a Monday. Who wants to go to a Green Day concert on a Monday and not be able to tailgate because there is NO parking??? NOT ME! So instead we are hiking ourselves up to Albany to see them on a Saturday! LOL! I know, I am nuts to drive all the way to Albany when they were playing 30 min from my house. WHat are you gonna do? You only live once right?

So that is my exciting news for today! PLUS I decided to completely empty and re-arrange my scraproom today! I can't believe I actually finished that! lol. OK, off to get ready for Fleetwood Mack. Have a good night!

Exciting week so far!

So over at 2Peas there is a new class on making mini albums! I never had the courage to even attempt one of these because I didn't even know where to start. But I decided to take the plunge and I must say it's going pretty well so far. Except for the fact that I was so excited that I jumped right into starting my cover and the first page without completely reading the class instructions. So after 2 hours of designing, changing and finally putting together those pages, I re-read the assignment and realized that it was a travel/journey theme. oops! SOOOO I re-designed the pages I did to fit the theme which took another hour! AAAHH!!! But needless to say, I am enjoying this challenge, since for me apparently it really is a challenge!!! LOL. ANyone else doing this class??

ALSO... after my Husband being out of work for 8 months (he is a Union Carpenter) He went back to work today! I was happy and sad at the same time. Happy because I know we really needed his salary back, and sad because I work in the evenings nd loved having him home with me all day. I was getting way too spoiled! But anyway, That is my excitement for this week so far!

Off to work on my Mini! I will post some pics later tonight! Talk to you later!

Thickers Giveaway!

I hated to admit this, especially to fellow scrapbookers, but I NEVER used thickers, never held them, never anything! Shameful, I know! But I recently bought them from Peachy Cheap when they had the deal last week. I absolutely love them! I finally realize what all of the hype is and now I am completely addicted! They are so amazing and I already have my "bucket" at 2Peas filled with all of the different styles and colors! My Hubby is probably going to kill me, but it's worth it right!?!? The only thing about the package that I received is that I got a set of chipboard thickers. I honestly doubt that I will ever use them, and since some of you girls gave me the courage to actually try thickers in the first place, I would love to share them with you!

If you are a follower of my blog (not necessary to win) and leave me a comment on this post by Friday 6/12 before midnght, you can have a chance to win this set of Chipboard Thickers! Just my way of thanking all of my fellow Peas for being so amazing! I will choose a winner on Saturday morning 6/13! Good Luck!

Yet Another Card!

So I apparently have been overflowing with inspiration the past few days. I just can't seem to stop myself from making cards... every second! I came up with this card today, meant for a baby boy. The funniest part is that I printed out the words on my computer and cut each little piece out THEN decided to "age" them. So I was sitting there driving myself nuts with my Tim Holtz blender tool trying to get my ink on the tiny pieces without bending them. Then I said to myself, "Duh Self!" ink them up BEFORE you cut them! HELLLOO!!?!?!? So that is what I did and it was alot faster and easier. Did you ever have one of those days where you are so tired but really want to create something and end up laughing at yourself for being silly? Well, this is one of those days! Ok, off to make some more! Here is the one I made this morning:

I'm a craftaholic!

So my latest obsession even more than scrapbooking is making cards. Over at the 2Peas website there is a class called "A Year in Cards" where every month there is a new challenge. This month we were to make sympathy cards. I honestly never even tried to make my own sympathy card because I always thought it was usually meant for a sensitive subject and I wasn't sure how to go about it. Well with the inspiration from Kristina Werner who runs the class I decided to take the plunge! I'm actually really happy the way it turned out and I am so excited for next months challenge! Here is what I came up with: I used the Tim Holtz flourish mask and tea dye distress ink, a dotted background stamp, some stitching and my cricut!

Rainy day

It's pretty yucky outside by me today so I have decided to rearrange and organize my studio. I figured I have some time before i go to work later so I might as well do something productive since I can't even see the top of my scrap desk! So i wanted to warn anyone who is reading this, if I do not post again by tonight send the search party! I may be suffocating in a swarm of scrappy supplies! LOL. Have a great day!

Got some inspiration!

Hey there! I haven't posted in a while, I think I have had a bit of a creators block! I finally got some inspiration, from I don't know where lol, and made a card that I actually am proud of and love! I have a bit of an obsession with owls lately, I can't seem to get enough. I also have been extremely busy planning a Graduation party for my cousin who just graduated from college! Yay! So I have been trying to do some projects along the decoration line to add a personal touch to the party. I will definitely post pix of those things later! But for now, I wanted to share my recent card that I just listed on my etsy site.

Also, my SIL asked me to draw a pic of Yoda from Star Wars for my nephews Bday party for "Pin the Light Saber on the Yoda"! It was such a fun project even though I got a little obsessed with the shading!

get moving!

I am off from "work" today! (ie. watching my niece & nephew) So I decided that today is the day I will clean my scraproom! Is it possible that there is a desk and a floor under there? Who really knows? I vaguely remember them being there somewhere! I have a new desk to add, so that may inspire me! If it gets done, I will post pics later, my Husband made some new pieces for my room, which I am very excited about, so I better get moving!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well I had my first ever custom order from a friend of mine! I was so excited to actually be able to put my mind to work for someone else! I was asked to come up with a picture frame for her friend who just became a Grandmother. Thank God for my cricut!!! This is what I came up with: I wanted to keep a semi-simple design, but try to make it really cute. Hopefully I succeeded! haha.

New LO

This is my new favorite LO. It's of my Husband and I on our wedding day. I have tried hidden journaling before but I never used hinges to do it! It was actually pretty easy to do. Im actually obsessed with hinges lately. I have seemed to find a way to add them into almost every layout!

Got Snow?

I must say that I am very disappointed. The weather man said that in my area we would be getting 4-6 inches of snow. It turned out that we had some slight snow fall and ended up with 1/4" of snow. I LOVE SNOW! My Husband and I were so upset that there was hardly anything. weird? I know that the majority of people probably think I'm nuts, but thats ok. lol. What I think is the funniest thing is how when anyone hears there will be a chance of snow, they charge to the supermarket (myself included). We went on Friday thinking we would just get a few things in case we were snowed in. We must have had about 20 things in our cart and waited on a line to pay for a good half hour. This morning I said to myself, everyone went crazy because the weatherman said we would have a substantial amount, where is it??? I need to move to Alaska!
This is where I want to be:

First day blogging!!

Ok, this is my first blog EVER!! I'm so excited that I started this to share in the community of fellow artists. I have been working all morning on my new Etsy shop and hoping that it takes off. *Fingers Crossed*. I saw so many blogs from amazing women on Two Peas in a Bucket and they truly inspired me! I am obsessed with scrapbooking, I simply cannot get enough. I don't know how my Hubby puts up with it! haha! I honestly just started scrapping again about 6 months ago. I used to do it all the time, since I was 17 I think. For various reasons I fell out of it and am so excited to have my love back! I will be posting some of my layouts along with other projects I have been working on. I am actually working on some bridal shower invitations for a friend and I am so happy to have that opportunity. Hopefully you will all like what I have come up with and look for any feedback and/or advice! Thanks!

P.S. I'm posting a link to my Etsy, so maybe you can take a look and just let me know what you think. I am always looking for opinions n my work!
